And how much more valuable you are than birds!" — Luke 12:24 (NIV) The Chi Rho mark is one of the oldest forms of christian symbols. It is made by superimposing the first two characters in the Greek spelling of Christ ( Greek : "Χριστός" ), chi = ch & rho = r. Although not truly a cross, the Chi Rho IMPLIES the crucifixion of Jesus as well as IDENTIFYING his status as the Christ.
